Votto locked up through 2023

Reds M.V.P Joey Votto has signed a 10 year 225 million dollar extension through 2023. Votto is now the best player in the N.L Central and one of the best in the N.L. He hit 309 last season along with 29 HR’s. I expect more from him this year as you can see from my predictions in other articles. With Pujols and Fielder out of the way I think Votto will lead the Reds to a division title at least. I also think this is a very smart move and I think it should pay out.

Opening day starters/ Question of the day

One of the things that is most exciting about opening day is that you always see the two teams best pitchers. C.C Sabathia will be going against Justin Verlander on opening day. Stephen Strausburg and Matt Garza will also go head to head in the opener. The Cardinals will likely pitch Adam Wainwright and the Reds Johnny Cueto or Mat Latos. It is always exciting to see how these pitchers perform. Which of these pitchers do you think will out-do the rest?

Award predictions. N.L. (David Edition)

Every year over 20 awards are given in each league the biggest of which are M.V.P, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year. Those are the awards I will make predictions for.

M.V.P. Joey Votto. The third best player in the N.L right now. The best 1B in the N.L will win the M.V.P if I am right. and if my projected numbers are right he should win player of the year as well. I think he will put up exactly these numbers and have another M.V.P season.337 AVG, 34 HR, 124 RBI’s.

Cy Young. Johnny Cueto. Last year the Reds ace posted a 2.31 ERA with 9 wins and 104 K’s. I think he will only get better and go on to win the Cy Young award with these statistics. 2.57 ERA, 19 wins, 201 K’s.

R.O.Y. Bryce Harper. Number 2 over all prospect is my prediction for N.L R.O.Y. I think he will hit 284 with 28 HR, 86 RBI’s and will dominate in the voting.

The Reds have reached deals with OF Ryan Ludwick and SP Jeff Frances. Frances has spent the last two years with the Royals after earning  his  reputation with the Rockies. As for Ludwick he has bounced around over the last few years. The two will be joining a much improved Reds team and hope for a world series ring soon.

The Cincinnati Reds have agreed to terms with out fielder Ryan Ludwick on a one year deal pending a physical. This move gives the Reds some flexibility with Chris  Heisey as a “super sub” or trading chip. With an out field that now includes Ludwick,Drew Stubbs and Jay Bruce along with an infield with M.V.P Joey Votto,Brandon Phillips and Scott Rolen and on top of that a pitching rotation with names like Matt Latos,Johnny Cuteo and Aroldis Chapman  the Reds are set to compete in 2012.

Wood for Marshal

The Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs have finalized a deal that will send two year veteran lefty Travis Wood and two  prospects to the Cubs and lefty reliever Sean Marshall to the Reds. The deal seams to work out for both teams, but trades like this have been deceiving before. Will it work out for 1 team, both teams, neither team? No one knows for sure. But what do you think?
