The Yankees and Pirates are in serious talks about veteran right hander A.J Burnett. Burnett signed with the Yankees along with Mark Teixieria, C.C Sabathia and Nick Swisher before the 2009 season when the Yankees brought home their 27th World Series title. Burnett posted an Earned Run Average (ERA) over 5 last season along with a losing record (which is really bad pitching for baseballs best line-up). But the Pirates will gain a much needed veteran experience to go with their young team which is in a large rebuilding processes that should take many years. I expect that Burnett will have a bounce back year wherever he ends up (as most traded Yankees do) Either way this should work out for both teams: the Yankees get 5 million dollars off their payroll and the Pirates get an opening day starter.
Mariners: First to report to spring training.
Yankees: Teams calling about A.J Burnett.
Tigers: Miguel Cabrera loses 20 pounds to play 3rd.
The Yankees finished with a 97-65 record in 2011 and hope to improve in 2012.With ace pither C.C Sabathia returning and rising stars such as Ivan Nova and Jesus Montero they might just do that. With a rotation that will include Sabathia,Nova,Phil Hughes,Freddy Garcia and A.J Burnett and also a lineup that will incude stars such as Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter,Alex Rodriguez,Mark Teixeira and Curtis Granderson, the Yankees hope this team will lead them to their their 28th world series title in 2012.
