The Yankees and Pirates are in serious talks about veteran right hander A.J Burnett. Burnett signed with the Yankees along with Mark Teixieria, C.C Sabathia and Nick Swisher before the 2009 season when the Yankees brought home their 27th World Series title. Burnett posted an Earned Run Average (ERA) over 5 last season along with a losing record (which is really bad pitching for baseballs best line-up). But the Pirates will gain a much needed veteran experience to go with their young team which is in a large rebuilding processes that should take many years. I expect that Burnett will have a bounce back year wherever he ends up (as most traded Yankees do) Either way this should work out for both teams: the Yankees get 5 million dollars off their payroll and the Pirates get an opening day starter.
